Durward (Ward) Minks

Durward (Ward) Minks, Stillwater,, 90, died Sept. 11, 2004, at Stillwater Good Samaritan.
He was born Aug. 15, 1914, in Princeton to Adolph and Anna Minks. He was raised on the family farm at Long Siding.
He married Harriet Kiel in 1942. He was in the National Guard at Camp Ripley, worked on wheat ranches in Washington, enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 90th Infantry Division, returned to work on the family farm, then moved to Stillwater in 1954 to work at the state prison for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Harriet, Stillwater; son Ronald, Katy, Texas; sister Lorraine Bouma, Stillwater; and grandson.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother and sister, Donald and June, brother Ellsworth and sister Laverne.
The funeral was Sept. 15 at Oakridge Community Church, Stillwater.
Burial was at Fairview Cemetery.
